The Scottish singer Amy MacDonald passed by the Rockhal a few weeks ago (ok, fine.. it was in March) to present her new album “Under the Stars”. It was a fun evening, she really doesn’t seem to take herself too seriously. The artist was very chatty and didn’t hesitate to share anecdotes about her growing older and her tour life. Her voice is as powerful as always and I was happy to see her live for the first time. I can definitely relate to her starting to feel old at 30, even though I must say the age average of the public that night seemed slightly higher. Was it because RTL is playing her songs more than Eldo ? I’m open for any other hypothesis.

Anyways, back to the concert. The new songs were lovely, but it was definitely the older ones that got the crowd energised. Even if, as Amy put it when she desperately was trying to go for some sing-along, she never thought thousands of people could ever be so “polite”. Newton Faulkner managed to successfully warm up the crowd as her support act.
